Getting entrepreneurial #2: let`s start

For quite a while now, I had the idea in mind to start a business. Unfortunately, no idea came to my mind. In the past few days, I did a mental to-do-list on what I know and what I can really do. I tried also to see what I need to learn to do….something which I haven`t yet figured out that I want to do.

Easier to say: I did a SWOT of myself. It seems that, in the “S” part of the analysis, I didn`t find to many things to put. I will continue to thinking about it.images

The “opportunities” part included, mainly, things that I want/need to learn. I needed extra “space” in my head to get that done (took it from the “strengths” part).

Overall, it seems that I need to quit having free time and go to work…on anything my mind puts me up to.

The conclusion: you first need to do a self-analysis. In order to start a business, you should try a find out if you can become an entrepreneur by yourself or if you need someone else to help you. You may be brilliant on the technical part (of your idea), but the business side also counts.

 

P.S.: I just finished a big list of things that I want to learn and test.

There comes a time in a person`s life when they get bored with everything they’ve ever done and start searching for the meaning of life. Most of them never find it because they are afraid to try new things.

In this post, I am speaking about entrepreneurship.

Career counseling #16: Dictator or role model

I saw a few days ago an article on Facebook and, because the subject looked interesting, I clicked. The title said something like “the diabolical questions that CEO`s ask during interviews”.

You know already that there are thousands of articles like this online. But I read it anyway. These were actually questions from CEOs of startups or vice presidents in some multinationals I never heard of. I should have guessed.

But there was a question that was unique: “would you prefer to be God or the devil?”. The author didn’t mention any responses, but it was still intriguing.

In my opinion, during an interview, a question that I would ask would be: “do you to be a dictator or a role model inside the team that you will lead?“. #HelpGreg at an end

It`s been a little more than two weeks since I started the #HelpGreg campaign. It has now come to an end.

No, Greg did not get a job offer. He has to continue to search and apply to any opportunity that might arise. I am giving him a help in redesigning his CVs and cover letters.

But here are the results of our little campaign.

  • 39 Facebook private messages;
  • 19 LinkedIn messages;
  • 8 Twitter private messages.
