Becoming a child again

From time to time, each of us has to go back to his childhood and act like a kid. Our childhood (for most) was the best part of our lives. Adults are most of the time too rigid too focused on making money, climbing the corporate ladder and buying stuff.

As kids, we were enjoying the simple stuff: playing.

My wife’s recent “guilty” return-to-childhood was to buy a colouring book and some coloured pencils. It looks great and everyone should try it. It seems to disconnect you and helps you to achieve a sort of peace of mind.

My guilty pleasure?! It`s more violent and not as far from my childhood. I installed on my tablet a new game “Avengers: Age of Ultron – Future fight”. As a kid, I really enjoyed my Terminator 2 game console. The game cartridges were available to loan from some shops around town and I really loved it. Usually I would rent a game cartridge for 1 day and finish the game in that single day.

Grown-ups and a 1-year old

Last night, I went at a birthday party for a 1-year old baby. It is Dima, the little baby of my friends Marwan and Basma. For me, it was a first. I’ve never attended something like this.

I saw last night how, for an infant, the parents` creativity explodes and their eyes are just full of joy. The apartment was decorated with lady beetle designs everywhere: the party hats, the glasses and the plates etc. The ceiling had, I guess, about 50+ balloons, all very colorful. Lack of inspiration – the reason why

In the past two weeks, I managed to “break” one of my biggest New Year’s resolutions: that of writing on this blog twice a week.

I can’t tell you why. Perhaps it was writer`s block or perhaps a simple lack of inspiration.

Short essay on humanity – part 2

We are the ones who live beyond what the imagination of those before us could have only foreseen. We consider that we are able to conquer anything because we believe we are capable to create the future…and we can. But sometimes the future we imagine is not what we want to create.

We have endless possibilities from which to choose, but we still cannot make up our minds. It seems that we want to let others decide for us and this is very vicious circle. Only we should choose our future in a world with more “evil under the sun” than we can imagine. SEE HOW HUMANITY IS LIKE!

Une explication à propos de Greg

Greg est un mec génial. Il est bon en tout, mais mal à tout faire en même temps.

Il a une bonne éducation, mais parce qu’il est si grand qu’il ne peut pas trouver un emploi.

Il avait beaucoup d’emplois dans tous les types d’organisations liées à l’agriculture. Il a été conseiller d’un ministre et il a travaillé dans la recherche au sein d’une université à l’étranger.

Toute cette expérience professionnelle ne lui permet pas de trouver un bon travail. En fait, il ne peut pas trouver un emploi décent.

Il a travaillé fort toute sa vie, se construit en quelque chose qu’il est fier et se considère chanceux.normal_is_overrated_calendar_print

P.S. C’était l`article de blog en français que j’ai promis au début de mes cours de français. Il y aura d’autres à venir.
